Programming

A major portion of Green Games scoring comes from programs.  Programs should NOT be limited to energy conservation, water conservation or recycling, because there are many possible topics for programs.  If you have any questions regarding programming, please contact OWRR at 962-5169 or greengames@unc.edu

Communities can receive program points during the fall or spring semester.  The total number of program points comes from hosting the program and attendance.

Program Points
Different types of programs receive points based on involvement, with the maximum being 60 points.

--Information session done by OWRR: 10 points +
one point for each attendee

--An "in-community" program: 15 points
+ based on percentage of participants (example; if your community has 200 residents, and 100 people participate in the floor drive, your team receives 50 points for 50% participation)

--Tour or off campus project: 50 points +
two points for each attendee

--Service Project: 60 points + two points for each attendee

--BYO Program: 10 points + one point for each attendee

--Other (pledge or floor drive): 15 points + based on percentage of participants (example; if your community has 200 residents, and 100 people participate in the floor drive, your team receives 50 points for 50% participation)

Program Logistics
All programs should be accounted for by emailing greengames@unc.edu about your program before it is to take place so we are aware of it (that way, someone from OWRR may attend).  After the program, a copy of the program form (see below) should be sent to us and a copy placed in your community's Green Games notebook along with any pictures and/or supporting materials.

Program forms do not have to be "just as" the program form in the information packet.  If you would like, be creative and make a program form that is related to the respective program, or use a housing program form.  All program forms though need to contain the information listed on OWRR's program form.
